 Robert Yowell is a 30-year veteran of the United States space program with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Aerospace and Electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and the US Air Force Institute of Technology respectively. He began his career in 1989 as an engineer with NASA in Houston where he supported the space shuttle program as a flight controller in Mission Control. Since 2011, he has managed spaceflight projects for the US Air Force in Los Angeles. In his role as a technical consultant for film and television, Robert is uniquely qualified to bring a level of authenticity and realism to space-related productions. His involvement on these projects includes participation in pre-production as a script consultant, and during production as an on-set source of validation and consulting. In addition to offering his expertise to the writer and director, he consults various departments including production design, props, set decoration, visual effects and post production. In 2017 and 2018, Robert Yowell served as technical consultant on two space-related feature films - "Ad Astra" directed by James Gray and "Lucy In the Sky" directed by Noah Hawley. In 2019, Robert was technical consultant to the Warner-Horizon / Appian Way series "The Right Stuff", which premiered on Disney Plus in 2020. In 2021 Robert was technical consultant for the Netflix special: “A StoryBots Space Adventure” In 2022 Robert worked on the reboot of Quantum Leap for NBC specifically an episode called “Atlantis”
